Pastel Pinwheel Dessert Table

One of my dearest friends Christina approached me seeking something soft and delicate for her daughters christening.
When I suggested Pinwheels, Christina was hesitant at first as she pictured the really colourful pinwheels we come across in carnivals. I assured her that we can make these pinwheels soft and delicate. I love it when a person puts their faith in me, which is exactly what she did.
We chose pastels for the colour scheme with an emphasis on feminine pastel colours.
I made 4 pinwheels which sat towards the back of the table and bought the concept to life. I tried to incorporate as many pinwheels as possible though out the entire table.
Desserts on the table included pinwheel cupcakes, pinwheel cookies, pinwheel cake pops, pinwheel marshmallows and candy in the chosen colour scheme.

Overall, the dessert table was so delicate and sweet, fit for any little princess.

VIP Red Carpet Event Dessert Table

My lovely client approached me and requested a dessert table for her VIP - Red Carpet Event 21st Birthday Party. She had previously organised her cake and she wanted me to style the rest of her dessert table.
My immediate thoughts were to have a red carpet backdrop with the red carpet flowing onto the dessert table using risers. So I decided to have the cake stands and candy jars at the back of the dessert table on what appeared to be the red carpet.
Initially my client only wanted me to use red, black and white for the colour scheme. After futher discussion we decided to incorporate minimal amounts of gold to bring out the glitz and glamour of a red carpet event.
I displayed the dessert labels on some bollards which I connected with what appeared to be red ropes.
Other desserts on the dessert table included VIP cupcakes, VIP vanilla cookie passes, Star cookies, red and black macarons, red and black cake pops and candy.

The dessert table turned out to be an amazing centrepiece for my clients VIP Red Carpet Event.

Ring The Bell's of Love (A rustic gold and burlap dessert table)

I often get asked what inspires me to create a dessert table or come up with a chosen concept. More often than not I can say its one item you see on that actual dessert table that I've come across during my travels and can't wait to use.

With this concept shoot - Ring The Bell's Of Love, the rustic bell which is hanging to the side of the dessert table was my main inspiration. I came across this bell during my travels to the Southern Highlands. As soon as I saw this bell ideas started swirling in my head. A very common occurrence for me as this happens with a multitude of items I come across. The bell is rustic and has a very natural and earthly feel. These elements were applied to the dessert table and the desserts which graced the table.

To start of with the cake design was basic yet effective. Wooden letters spelling the word "LOVE" were applied to the burlap which lined the bottom of the cake. A lovely rustic statue of a couple holding the "Bell's Of Love" was placed as the cake topper.

The other desserts included -
Vanilla swirl cupcakes with "Ring The Bell's Of Love" toppers. These cupcakes were kept simple to maintain the rustic and natural feel.
Heart cookies with gold fondant heart toppers were also kept natural to complement the natural desserts.
Vanilla and white chocolate cakepops with gold sprinkles were placed on top of blocks which spelt the word love.
Salted caramel macarons and vanilla macarons were embellished with gold fondant heart toppers.
Vanilla mousse was served with a heart cookie which was embellished with twine to maintain the simple natural earthly feel.
And
White mints

Natural wrapped chocolates which complemented the natural desserts and embellished jars with white chocolate truffles were used as favors for the guests.

Roaring 1920's Black, White and Red Dessert Table

My lovely client Michelle approached me and requested a Roaring 1920's black, white and red dessert table. She had one other request which was to use the mannequins which I had previously used in my Runway/Catwalk table back in April.

She had also already chosen her cake, cupcakes, cookies and cake pops and wanted me to add any other desserts I felt would be appropraite for the 1920's theme.
So I decided to add some themed personalised chocolates, elegant black and red macarons and candy which consisted of, sixlets, bon bons, pearl vanilla gumballs and red jaffas.
Black and white pearls, red roses and feathers were used to bring the 1920's era to life on the dessert table.

Overall, the dessert table was very elegant and my client was so happy to see the finished product. I really love my job especially when you hear your clients say "I can't stop looking at the table". You know you have succeeded when you can just see the delight on your clients face.

Enchanted Pastel Rainbow Fairy Party

My daughters birthday was fast approaching and I've always known that she would be having a fairy party. As fairy parties are common these days, I wanted her party to incorporate elements that other fairy parties didn't have, so I decided on an enchanted pastel rainbow fairy party.

The colours were perfect and captured a sweet version of rainbows and the party included all the elements of an enchanted fairy party.

The dessert table was the highlight of the party. The cake and backdrop captured the scene of an enchanted forest. The sweet treats were styled in a way which enabled them to fit into this enchanted forest. The sweet treats included -
Butter-cream swirl pastel cupcakes
Butterfly cake pops
Pixie dust cake pops
Flower cookie tree
Cookie wands
Topiary tree cake pops
Mushroom marshmallows
Petite fairy floss tarts
Petite pastel rainbow cakes
Pastel macarons
Pastel rainbow layered jelly
Pastel rainbow layered pannacotta and I obviously had to include
A pot of gold chocolates at the end of the rainbow

As we had a huge variety of desserts I decided to have a separate drinks and candy table which the children could help themselves to. The little "fairies" and "peter pans" helped themselves to some Pixie Punch and treated themselves to some candy, which included -
Pastel marshmallows
Sour rainbow straps
Mint leaves
Pastel candy
Pastel fruit sticks
Pastel lollypops
For entertainment we had Fairy Good Times "Fairy Melody" attended the party. She transported the children away to a magical world of make believe, where their dreams began and enchantment commenced. The activities they participated in included -
A magic show with many giggles
Puppetry and many imaginative games &
Face painting
Fairy Melody also enchanted the children with her amazing voice, hence the reason for her beautiful name.

As a take home gift each child was given a bottle of pixie dust to enable them to be transported to this enchanted land once again and a personalised chocolate bar from the birthday girl.
The children's food table was also set up with some amazing childrens ghost chairs which I embellished with pastel butterflys.

I hope you enjoyed viewing my daughters party as much as I enjoyed styling it.

The great part is I get to style the exactly same party for another special girl next month.
