Money, Money, Money Dessert Table

I created this table for my sisters birthday. My sister is a Financial Planner and since I can remember has thought in Dollar Signs. This is the reason for the Money, Money, Money inspired table. I chose the colours black, white and gold to create the elegance and class that money can buy. Gold had to be incorporated into the table as no other colour screams money more than gold.

The backdrop was designed and crafted by me out of small black and white American Dollar Bills. Each fan in the backdrop was made out of multiples of dollar bills combined together. Hours of work went into crafting the backdrop.

The centre of the table was the cake and the gold bullion which I used to display the American dollar bill cookies.

I included some money bags with chocolate wrapped in the American Dollar Bills and chocolate gold coins to symbolize the banks which hold our money and off course because she works for one if these banks.

Other sweet treats included, dollar cake pops, money, money money cupcakes, money, money, money cookies, money rosette pannacottas, gold bullion marshmallows and gold nugget sixlets.

Anthropology High Tea (For My Little Jedi online magazine)

This anthropology high tea was styled for the online magazine My Little Jedi's Winter Edition. 

As a contributor to the magazine we were given a set of themes to work with. We were able to chose the theme then apply our own styling to the theme. One of the themes was an "Anthropology High Tea".

So I chose to do a traditional high tea but tweak it to give it an anthropology feel. The photoshoot took place at a privately owned property in Bowral in the Southern Highlands (NSW, Australia).

The high tea had an earthly feel. The colour scheme was beige, white and burgundy. The burgundy brightened up the colour scheme but gave the high tea a wintery feel. Buttons and flowers were the main inspiration behind the high tea.

The backdrop was the beautifully landscaped property. The ideal place for an anthropology high tea.

The high tea table included all mismatched vintage high tea servingware which were sourced from all over the world. Risers were natural wooden boxes. All combined contributed to the natural and earthly feel. Burgundy and white flowers were added to create vibrancy with the other natural colours.

The dining setting was relaxed rather than formal with hessian stools instead of chairs. All stools were various sizes and heights (mismatched) and made by Events by Nat. The table was a wooden shelf with a suitcase for the table top. All natural and earthly to complement the hessian stools.

The menu consisted of the following -

Egg and watercress sandwiches

Ham & chutney sandwiches

Petit spinach and cheese quiches

Sweet Treats -

Scones - Rather than use traditional scones, I thought I would create something original so I came up with scone pops. I combined scones and jam and rolled them into a cake pop ball. I coated them in white chocolate and sprinkled eatable rose petals on top.

The cake was three tiered with large and small burgundy blooms.

Favors for the guests were the Hessian wrapped chocolates.

In the background cream and white pom poms hung from the trees along with burgundy flowers.

Overall, the whole setting was picturesque.

My Vintage Rose and Doily Inspired 32nd Birthday Party

My 32nd birthday was coming up and I thought that I must have a simple and elegant party which fits me to a tee.

So this is what I came up with...My Vintage Rose and Doily Inspired Birthday Party.

I used vintage doilys all throughout the table and a doily bunting for a backdrop along with wall mounted candle holders and a blackboard. I incorporated Red roses in various places on the table to brighten up the white and beige color palette. All these elements combined gave the table its vintage look.

The cake was displayed in my beautiful vintage birdcage.

Chocolates were placed on my gold vintage photo frames and elevated using my Pottery stand.

Custard tarts were also placed on a photo frame with beautifully handpainted cookies.

Rock candy was placed in a candle holder with leaves surrounding them and were called flower candy.

The glass drinking bottles were decorated using the same decor as the chocolates and printables.

Cookies and cupcakes were also made to tie in with the theme. They had beautiful doily/lace print and one red rose on eash of them.

Nougat was placed inside my favorite vintage tea cup along with some other hand painted cookies.

My favorite vintage sugar and creamer set held the meringue and cream desserts which were sprinkled with rose petals.

Bon bons were placed inside my sweet pea lolly jar which was decorated with my favorite vintage bracelet. It actually looked like a feminine mannequin.

Mango jelly pannacottas were served inside my vintage glasses which were elevated using a vintage book.

One cupcake was elevated in my beautiful vintage candle holder while another cupcake was inside a mini birdcage.

The element that was my favorite on the table was my apple and berry arrangement which I made. I've had an obsession with apple bouquets for a while now and I knew that I have to incorporate one of these bouquets. The vintage effect of one of these bouquets is amazing.

I've included a night shot to show you how amazing it looked with all the candles alight.

Runway/Catwalk Black & White Dessert Table

This table is officially the first table I do under my new dessert table styling business, Events by Nat.

I knew I had to pull out all my creative ideas when my sister in law asked me to do a dessert table for her Runway/Catwalk themed 21st birthday party.

The first idea that popped in my head was that I have to have a runway on the table and this is what I did. I built a mirrored runway down the middle of the table.

 

 

The main 'model' on this runway was the cake. I found a Chanel inspired cake on Style Unveiled and went to Jacki at Blissfully Sweet and asked her to make a similar cake with no pearls but diamonds instead (as insisted by my sister in law). The cake turned out absolutely amazing and looked like the most beautiful gown you would see on a Versace or Chanel runway.

 

In the middle of the runway I had a meringue fountain which flowed meringues onto the chairs on the sides of the runway. It looked absolutely amazing.

 

Blissfully Sweet also made the amazing designer cupcakes(which were all based on the birthday girls various favourite fashion designers), Chanel cake pops and Versace cookies.

 

 

I stationed a Versace cookie at the start of the runway on a stand showing that it's a Versace fashion show in progress.

 

I had two embellished mannequins on the sides of the table with various designer tags on them and holding rock candy.

Other desserts included a designer candy bar (consisting of, black and silver sixlets, white bonbons, marshmellows and nougat) designer oreo pannacottas, blush Macarons, Raffaelos and Monique's 21st Chocolates which all tied in with the colour scheme.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The backdrop was designed like a runway. A mirror hung on the wall in the centre with black curtains draped to both sides.

 

Overall the event turned out like a fashion show. Here is a picture of the birthday girl on the blank carpet entrance to show you why a runway/catwalk theme was her to a tee. She looked like any model you would see on one of those runways. Stunning!!
